How this converter works
Choose a source currency, a target currency and the amount you want to convert. The calculator requests the latest available exchange rate for that base currency and calculates the result in your browser.
The currency list is built into the page so the selector appears immediately, while the latest exchange rates are retrieved in the background. The list and rates can change as providers update their data.
Exchange-rate timing
“Live” on this page means the calculator automatically retrieves the latest available published rate when you open it and refreshes periodically while the page is open. Reference rates are normally published on working days, so the displayed rate may remain unchanged between updates.
Example
If you enter 100 in one currency and select another, the calculator multiplies 100 by the current published rate for that currency pair. Your bank, card provider or money-transfer service may use a different rate and may add a spread or fee.
Frequently asked questions
Does this converter support every currency?
It loads the currencies currently covered by the exchange-rate provider, using official ISO currency codes where available. Some obsolete or unsupported currencies cannot be converted because current exchange-rate data is not published for them.
Are the rates guaranteed to match my bank?
No. Banks, card networks and transfer services can apply their own exchange rates, fees and margins. Use this tool for an estimate and check the provider you plan to use before making a transaction.
How often are rates updated?
The page checks for updated data automatically while it is open. The underlying reference data is published on a working-day schedule rather than continuously like a foreign-exchange trading feed.
